CONGRATULATIONS!

The Notebook Computer Security Anchor is used

for locking laptops, CPUs, LCD projectors and other

mobile office equipment to stationary objects that

do not have a leg or hole to tether a cable around.

It includes: (Diagram 1)

• Security anchor plate and shackle

• Security anchor cover

• 3 #10 tamper resistant wood screws

• 1 tube of glue

GETTING STARTED

1. Installing Anchor Plate

Determine the area and surface on which you wish

to install the Notebook Computer Security Anchor.

Choose a location that is unobtrusive and out of the

way but would allow access to your laptop or other

mobile item when locked to the anchor.

It is recommended that you use both the glue and the

screws to mount the anchor to the chosen surface.

A. Mark the location of the screw holes in the chosen

area with a pencil through each hole in the anchor plate.

B. Drill, if chosen surface requires it, a 1/16” diameter

hole into each mark in the chosen area.

IMPORTANT: Measure and install screws very carefully.

Once screws are installed they cannot be removed.

C. Clean and dry the chosen surface very well after

drilling and before applying glue.

D. Cut off the tip of the glue tube.

E. Spread the glue across the bottom of the anchor plate,

using just enough to cover the entire anchor plate surface.

F. Place the anchor plate over the drilled holes and

press firmly for at least 1 minute. Wipe away any

excess glue that may leak out.

IMPORTANT: Let cure for 24 hours before adding

screws and attaching anchor cover to ensure secure

attachment to surface.

. DO NOT LEAVE CONTAINER OPEN. KEEP CAP CLOSED WHEN

NOT IN USE

. USE IN AN AREA WITH ADEQUATE VENTILATION.

VOID BREATHING OF VAPOR. AVOID CONTACT WITH SKIN AND

EYES

. IF ADHESIVE GETS INTO THE EYES, WASH WITH WARM

WATER AND CONSULT DOCTOR

G. After glue has cured for 24 hours, insert the screws

and tighten.

2. Assembling Anchor Plate and Cover

Place anchor cover onto anchor plate, lining up the

grooves. (Diagram 2)

B. Twist the cover clockwise until the safety latch

snaps into place. (Diagram 3)

3. Securing Items Using the Security Anchor

Lift shackle up to loop an APC by Kryptonite cable lock

through it. When shackle is upright, the anchor cover

cannot be removed to get at the screws.

(a) Notebook Computer Security Anchor. American

Power Conversion warrants only to the initial user of

Notebook Computer Security Anchor Products or Parts

that such Products or Parts will be free from defects in

material and workmanship for the lifetime of such

Products or Parts.

(b) American Power Conversion’s sole obligation

under this warranty is limited to repairing or replac-

ing, at its option, the defective Products or Parts.

ARE MADE WITH RESPECT TO THE PRODUCTS OR

PARTS INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY

IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FIT-

NESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. AMERICAN

POWER CONVERSION DOES NOT AUTHORIZE ANY

PERSON TO CREATE FOR IT ANY OBLIGATION OR LIA-

BILITY IN CONNECTION WITH PRODUCTS OR PARTS.

2. EXCLUSIONS TO WARRANTY

(a) The provisions of this limited warranty do not

apply to Products or Parts: (i) used for the purposes

for which they are not designed or intended; (ii) which

have been repaired or altered without American

Power Conversion’s prior written consent; (iii) which

have been subjected to misuse, abuse, negligence, or

accident; (iv) which have been improperly stored,

installed, maintained, or operated; (v) which have

been used in violation of written instructions provided

by American Power Conversion to Distributor and/or

initial user; (vi) which have been subjected to improp-

er temperature, humidity, or other environmental con-

ditions; (vii) which have been effected by normal wear

and tear; or (viii) which, based on American Power

Conversion’s or Distributor’s examination, do not dis-

close to American Power Conversion’s or Distributor’s

satisfaction nonconformance to the warranty.

(b) The following costs and expenses are not covered by

the provisions of this limited warranty: (i) labor costs for

the removal and reinstallation of Products or Parts; (ii)

shipping and freight expenses required to return Products

or Parts to American Power Conversion or Distributor;

(iii) normal maintenance; and (iv) economic losses.

ARE NOT APPLICABLE TO ANYTHING OTHER THAN

DEFECTS IN AMERICAN POWER CONVERSION’S

MATERIAL OR WORKMANSHIP.

3. USER’S REMEDIES

USER’S EXCLUSIVE AND SOLE REMEDY ON

ACCOUNT OF, OR IN RESPECT OF, THE FURNISHING

OF PRODUCTS OR PARTS THAT DO NOT CONFORM

TO THIS AGREEMENT WILL BE TO SECURE REPAIR

OR REPLACEMENT OF THE PRODUCTS OR PARTS, AT

AMERICAN POWER CONVERSION’S OPTION. IN NO

EVENT WILL AMERICAN POWER CONVERSION’S

MAXIMUM LIABILITY EXCEED THE SELLING PRICE

FOR THE NON-CONFORMING PRODUCTS OR PARTS.

4. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

IN NO EVENT WILL AMERICAN POWER CONVERSION

BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, INDI-

RECT, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES INCLUDING,

BUT NOT LIMITED TO, LOSS OF USE OF THE PROD-

UCTS OR PARTS, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF REV-

ENUE, INTEREST, LOST GOODWILL, WORK STOPPAGE,

IMPAIRMENT OF OTHER GOODS, LOSS BY REASON

OF SHUTDOWN OR NON-OPERATION, INCREASED

EXPENSES OF OPERATION, OR CLAIMS OF USERS,

WHETHER BASED ON CONTRACT, WARRANTY, TORT

(INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, STRICT LIABILITY

OR NEGLIGENCE), PATENT INFRINGEMENT, OR OTH-

ERWISE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF

SUCH DAMAGES.

5. STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS

NO ACTION ARISING OUT OF ANY CLAIMED BREACH

OF THIS AGREEMENT BY AMERICAN POWER

CONVERSION MAY BE BROUGHT BY USER MORE

THAN ONE (1) YEAR AFTER THE CAUSE OF ACTION

HAS ARISEN.

Esta ancla de seguridad se usa para fijar las computa-

doras portátiles, computadoras personales, proyec-

tores “LCD” y otro equipo móvil de oficina a objetos

donde poder meter un cable.

PROCEDIMIENTO DE INSTALACIÓN

1. Instalación de la placa del ancla

Determine el área y la superficie en las que desea

instalar el Ancla de Seguridad para Computadoras

Portátiles. Escoja una posición de fácil acceso, donde

no estorbe con nada, de manera que pueda trabajar

con facilidad en su computadora u otro objeto movi-

ble, una vez que éstos se hayan fijado al ancla.

Se recomienda que use tanto la cola como los

tornillos para montar el ancla a la superficie escogida.

A. Marque con un lápiz la posición de los agujeros

para los tornillos en el área seleccionada a través de

cada agujero de la placa del ancla.

B. Si la superficie seleccionada lo requiere, taladre un

agujero de 1/16” de diámetro en cada marca del área

seleccionada.

IMPORTANTE: mida e instale los tornillos muy

cuidadosamente. Una vez instalados los tornillos,

no se podrán extraer.

C. Después de taladrar y antes de aplicar la cola, limpie

bien y seque completamente la superficie seleccionada.

D. Corte la punta del tubo de cola.

E. Extienda la cola a través de la parte inferior de la
