This anti-theft device gives you serious protection for the

security of your notebook computer and other valuables.

Your Sensor Alarm Lock includes:

• Sensor Alarm unit

• Docking Plate, complete with 3M

adhesive pad,

alcohol wipe, 2 screws

• Security Slot Attachment Adapter with 2

extra cushion pads

• 9-volt battery

Before You Begin

NOTE: When triggered, Alarm sounds very loudly.

We recommend you familiarize yourself with its

operation in a location where accidental triggering

will not disturb others.

GETTING STARTED

1. Battery

The Sensor Alarm Lock is powered by one conventional

9-volt battery (included). For security, the battery com-

partment can only be opened when the unit is unlocked

and deactivated.

5. PRESCRIPTION

AUCUNE POURSUITE ENTRAÎNÉE PAR UNE VIOLA-

TION ALLÉGUÉE DE LA PRÉSENTE ENTENTE PAR

AMERICAN POWER CONVERSION NE POURRA ÊTRE

INTENTÉE PAR L’UTILISATEUR PLUS D’UN (1) AN

APRÈS L’APPARITION DE LA CAUSE D’ACTION.

A. Inserting the Battery:

1. Set dials to factory preset combination 0-0-0.

2. Press Trigger button, allow cable to retract

if necessary.

3. Press and hold Trigger button, slide Docking Plate

off (See Section 5C “Using Docking Plate”).

4. Hold Trigger button, place finger in indentation in

battery compartment latch, open battery compartment

cover by pulling up latch.

CAUTION: You must fully depress Trigger button while

opening or closing the battery compartment.

5. Attach 9-volt battery, insert into compartment.

6. Press and hold Trigger button to snap cover back

into place.

7. Be sure cover is secure by trying to open it back up

without pressing the Trigger button.

B. Low Battery Warning

• Engaging the cable or activating the Alarm with a

low battery causes the Red light to glow and the

unit to sound 5 steady beeps.

• Replace battery immediately to maintain

uninterrupted security.

2. Combination Lock

The combination lock activates 3 components of the

Sensor Alarm Lock:

• Locks retractable cable in place, activating the unit.

• Locks battery compartment, preventing alarm from

being disarmed.

• Locks unit to Docking Plate.

Your Sensor Alarm Lock is factory preset to

combination 0-0-0. For security, reset it to your own

personal 3-digit combination.

Choose from 1000 possibilities; change it at any time.

NOTE: Treat your combination like any PIN: record and

store it in a safe place, separate from the unit.

A. Setting or changing the combination:

1. Push Cable Head back down into unit until it

clicks into place.

2. Turn number dials to selected combination.

3. Press and hold Trigger button and pull Cable Head

out of unit.

4. New combination is now set and unit ready to use.

NOTE: To change combination at any time, set dials to

current code and follow steps 1- 4.

WARNING: To maintain security of Alarm, scramble

dials to random numbers after every activation or

when not in use.

3. Retractable Cable (3ft. long x 2.5 mm diameter)

A. Functions:

1. Secures Alarm through

handle of portable valuable

you want protected.

2. Tethers Alarm and portable

valuable to fixed object

(e.g. desk, table, etc.).

3. Passes through Computer

Slot Attachment Adapter,

to tether it to fixed object.

(See Section 5B: “Computer

Slot Attachment Adapter

Usage“).

B. Operation:

Retractable cable only works

when Alarm is unlocked and

Trigger button is held down.

Operating retractable cable:

1. Set dials to personal

combination.

2. Press and hold Trigger button.

3. Extend cable to desired

length.

4. Release Trigger button to

set cable length.

5. To shorten cable or retract it completely,

a. press and hold Trigger button,

b. guide cable into Locking Hole.

CAUTION: Hold cable during retraction to prevent

uncontrolled motion and risk of injury.

4. Activating the Sensor Alarm Lock

A. Security Levels

The Sensor Alarm Lock provides serious security

protection for your notebook computer or other

portable valuable any time, any place, on the road or

in the office. Choose from three Security levels to meet

your changing needs for protection. Red and Green

lights on unit indicate Security level activated:

Level 1 Security: Two seconds of continuous motion

(e.g. movement, jarring or vibration) and/or cable-tam-

pering causes Alarm to sound. At this level, Red light

flashes twice per second.

Level 2 Security: Eight seconds of continuous motion

and/or cable-tampering causes Alarm to sound. At this

level, Green light flashes twice per second.

Level 3 Security (no motion detection): If cable is

tampered with, Alarm sounds. At this level, Green light

flashes once per second.

IMPORTANT: Level 1 Security is default setting at

activation. Alarm can be reset to Level 2 or Level 3

Security within 8 seconds of activation.

NOTE: Because of its sensitive motion detection

capabilities, the Sensor Alarm Lock is not designed for

use in moving vehicles. Contact your local dealer or

APC for other APC by Kryptonite products specially

designed for that use:

• Notebook Computer Key Locks (2 sizes)

• Notebook Computer Combination Locks (2 sizes)

• Notebook Computer Vault Lock

B. Setting Security Level

Setting Alarm to Level 1 Security:

1. Set dials to personal combination.

2. Extend cable and tether it as desired

(See Section 3B. Retractable Cable Operation).

3. Push Cable Head into Locking Hole until it clicks

in place.

4. Alarm sounds one beep to confirm unit is set at

Level 1 Security.

5. Red light flashes 8 times in 8 seconds, allowing
