2. EXCLUSIONS

(a)Les dispositions de cette garantie limitée ne s’ap-

pliquent pas aux produits et pièces qui sont : (i) utilisés

à des fins pour lesquelles ils n’ont pas été conçus; (ii)

réparés ou modifiés sans le consentement écrit préal-

able de American Power Conversion; (iii) assujettis à

une mauvaise utilisation, de mauvais traitements, la

négligence ou un accident; (iv) mal rangés, installés,

entretenus ou employés; (v) utilisés de façon contraire

aux instructions écrites fournies par American Power

Conversion au distributeur ou au premier utilisateur;

(vi) exposés à de mauvaises conditions de tempéra-

ture, d’humidité ou autres de nature environnementale;

(vii) soumis à une usure normale; ou qui (viii) d’après

l’examen mené par American Power Conversion ou le

distributeur à leur gré, ne semblent pas entachés d’un

vice couvert par la garantie.

(b)Les coûts et dépenses qui suivent ne sont pas cou-

verts par les dispositions de la présente garantie lim-

itée : (i) les coûts de main-d’œuvre liés à l’enlèvement

et à la réinstallation des produits ou des pièces; (ii) les

frais de port engagés pour retourner les produits ou

les pièces à American Power Conversion ou au distrib-

uteur; (iii) les frais d’entretien normaux; et (iv) les

pertes de nature économique.

(c)LES DISPOSITIONS DE LA GARANTIE LIMITÉE NE

S’APPLIQUENT QU’AUX VICES DE MATÉRIEL OU DE

FABRICATION DE AMERICAN POWER CONVERSION.

3. RECOURS DE L’UTILISATEUR

LE SEUL ET UNIQUE RECOURS DONT DISPOSE L’U-

TILISATEUR À L’ÉGARD DE LA FOURNITURE DE PRO-

DUITS OU DE PIÈCES NON CONFORMES À CETTE

ENTENTE CONSISTE À OBTENIR LA RÉPARATION OU

LE REMPLACEMENT DES PRODUITS OU DES PIÈCES,

3. Relâchez le bouton de déclenchement pour

verrouiller le dispositif sur le socle d’accueil.

4. Vérifiez que l’alarme est fermement verrouillée en

place sur le socle d’accueil en essayant de ressortir le

dispositif sans appuyer sur le bouton de déclenchement.

5. Insérez la tête du câble dans le trou de verrouillage

pour activer l’alarme comme d’habitude (Voir la

section 4B).

6. Pour retirer l’alarme du socle d’accueil, gardez le

bouton de déclenchement enfoncé et faites sortir

l’alarme en la faisant coulisser.

IMPORTANT: La tête de câble doit être insérée dans le

trou de verrouillage pour activer l’alarme.

1. GARANTIE LIMITÉE

(a)Alarme à détecteur de mouvement. American Power

Conversion garantit seulement au premier utilisateur

des produits ou pièces de l’alarme à détecteur de mou-

vement que ceux-ci sont exempts de tout vice de

matériau ou de fabrication, et ce, pendant une période

de 24 mois après leur achat auprès d’un distributeur.

(b)La seule obligation de American Power Conversion

en vertu de cette garantie consiste à réparer ou à

remplacer le produit défectueux ou la pièce

défectueuse, à son gré.

(c)AUCUNE AUTRE GARANTIE EXPLICITE OU

• Push Cable Head into Locking Hole to activate it.

• Alarm sounds if object is moved, bumped or jarred

(in Level 1 or Level 2 Security) or cable tampered

with (all Security Levels).

Attaching Docking Plate directly to notebook

computer or other portable valuable:

1. Prepare surface by wiping with alcohol pad (included).

2. Peel release paper from 3M

adhesive on back of

Docking Plate.

3. Attach Docking Plate to notebook computer or valu-

able in desired permanent location.

WARNING: Be sure Docking Plate is placed to

one side of the computer screen so you will not be

pressing down on the middle of the screen.

NOTE: Position Docking Plate with arrows pointing

towards back of computer or portable valuable so

Alarm can slide on and off Docking Plate from

the front.

4. Press firmly on Docking Plate for 10 seconds so 3M

adhesive pad makes full contact with and securely

attaches to surface of computer or valuable.

IMPORTANT: For permanent attachment of Docking

Plate to notebook computer or portable valuable, wait

24 hours for adhesive to set before sliding Alarm on

and off the Docking Plate.

Attaching Docking Plate with Screws:

1. Choose permanent location for Docking Plate.

2. Position arrows on Docking Plate in a direction

allowing unrestricted access to mount and dismount

Alarm unit.

3. Mark a dot through screw holes with a pencil.

4. Drill holes into dot marks.

5. Tighten screws through Docking Plate into holes.

WARNING: Do not use screws to attach Docking Plate

to a computer.

Using Docking Plate:

1. To mount Alarm onto Docking Plate, press Trigger

button to release Docking Plate Latch.

2. Hold Trigger button, slide Alarm onto Docking Plate

in direction of arrows as far as it will go.

a. Docking Plate must engage each hinge on

Alarm back as it slides into place.

3. Release Trigger button to lock unit onto

Docking Plate.

4. Test that Alarm is securely locked in place on

Docking Plate by attempting to slide unit off without

pressing Trigger button.

5. Passez le câble au travers des trous, faites une

C. Utilisation en socle d’accueil:

1. Utilisez cette fonction unique pour fixer l’alarme

2. Fixez l’alarme directement à l’objet de valeur et

utilisez le câble pour amarrer l’objet de valeur à un

objet fixe à titre de protection supplémentaire.

3. Installez l’alarme avec le socle d’accueil dans un lieu

permanent et utilisez l’adaptateur pour logement

antivol du portable pour faire passer le câble au travers

de l’objet de valeur. (Voir le schéma 5):

• Vissez le socle d’accueil dans un lieu permanent

caché (par exemple sous le bureau, dans un tiroir).

• Fixez l’alarme.

• Allongez le câble et faites-le passer au travers des

trous de l’adaptateur.

• Poussez la tête de câble dans le trou de verrouillage

pour activer l’alarme.

• L’alarme retentit si l’objet est déplacé, bousculé ou

tiré (en niveau 1 ou 2 de sécurité) ou si le câble est

manipulé (à tous les niveaux de sécurité).

Fixation du socle d’accueil directement sur l’ordinateur

portable ou sur tout autre objet portatif de valeur:

1. Préparez la surface en l’essuyant avec un tampon

d’alcool (fourni).

2. Détachez le papier de protection du patin adhésif

au dos du socle d’accueil.

3. Fixez le socle d’accueil à l’ordinateur portable ou à

l’objet de valeur à l’emplacement permanent désiré.

AVERTISSEMENT: Assurez-vous que le socle d’accueil

soit placé sur un côté de l’écran afin d’éviter de press-

er sur le milieu de l’écran.

REMARQUE: Placez le socle d’accueil avec les flèches

vers l’arrière de l’ordinateur ou de l’objet de valeur

portatif pour que l’alarme puisse coulisser sur le socle

d’accueil et en ressortir par le devant.

4. Appuyez fermement sur le socle d’accueil pendant

10 secondes pour que le patin adhésif 3M

fasse

complètement contact avec la surface et qu’il se fixe

fermement sur la surface de l’ordinateur ou de l’objet

de valeur.

IMPORTANT: Pour une fixation permanente du socle

d’accueil sur l’ordinateur portable ou l’objet de valeur

portatif, attendez 24 heures que l’adhésif sèche avant

de glisser l’alarme dans le socle d’accueil et de l’en

ressortir.

Fixation du socle d’accueil avec des vis:

1. Choisissez un emplacement permanent pour le

socle d’accueil.

2. Positionnez les flèches du socle d’accueil dans un

sens permettant un accès sans restriction pour monter

et démonter l’alarme.

3. Marquez un point avec un crayon au travers des

trous de vis.

4. Percez des trous aux emplacements marqués.

5. Serrez les vis dans les trous du socle d’accueil.

AVERTISSEMENT: N’utilisez pas de vis pour fixer le

socle d’accueil à un ordinateur.

Utilisation du socle d’accueil :

1. Pour fixer l’alarme sur le socle d’accueil, appuyez

sur le bouton de déclenchement pour dégager le ver-

rou du socle d’accueil.

2. En maintenant le bouton de déclenchement appuyé,

glissez l’alarme sur le socle d’accueil aussi loin que

possible dans la direction des flèches.

a. Le socle d’accueil doit engager chaque charnière

au dos de l’alarme lorsqu’elle est glissée en place.

B. Security Slot Attachment Adapter Usage:

• To prevent tampering or theft of notebook computer

in an insecure location while notebook is in use or

stored, security Slot Attachment Adapter attaches

directly to notebook computer using computer’s slot

lock hole.

• Tether retractable cable through holes in adapter

and secure cable around an immovable object for

extra protection.

• Alarm sounds if object is moved, bumped or jarred

(in Level 1 or Level 2 Security) or cable tampered

with (all Security Levels).

Using Security Slot Attachment Adapter

(See Diagrams 2 & 3):

1. Locate slot hole, indicated on side or back of

computer by symbols:

2. Slide Adapter into security slot hole until

Adapter’s black spring covering fits securely

against computer body.

3. While pushing and holding Adapter still inside slot

hole with one hand, turn ribbed knob clockwise with

other hand to engage feet and align holes to allow

Cable Head to pass through.

WARNING: In order to engage the feet inside the

security slot hole properly, you must keep the feet

lined up perfectly straight in the slot hole when

turning the ribbed cap.

4. Test that adapter is firmly in the slot hole by trying

to pull it back out after engaging the feet.

5. Pass cable through holes, loop it around an immov-

able object, and push Cable Head into Locking Hole.

6. Set Security Level according to Section 4B.

C. Docking Plate Usage:

1. Use this unique feature to attach Alarm directly to

laptop or portable valuable to secure and protect it any

time, any place.

2. Attach Alarm directly to valuable and use cable to

tether valuable to an immovable object for extra

protection. (See Diagram 4).

3. Hide Alarm with Docking Plate in permanent

location and use Computer Slot Attachment Adapter

to loop cable through valuable, (See Diagram 5):

• Screw Docking Plate in hidden permanent location

(e.g. under desktop, in drawer).

• Mount Alarm.

• Extend cable and thread through Adapter holes.

Alarm to be reset to Level 2 Security (press Activation

Button once) or Level 3 Security (press Activation

Button twice).

6. If Security Level is not reset within 8 seconds,

• Red light begins flashing twice per second.

• Level 1 Security setting is confirmed.

7. If 2 seconds of continuous motion is detected,

• Alarm chirps a warning sound.

• Red light shines steadily for 3 seconds.

• Alarm sounds for 45 seconds or until deactivated.

After 45 seconds, Alarm automatically resets.

8. If cable is tampered with, Alarm sounds continuously

until unit is deactivated or battery exhausted.

NOTE: To deactivate Alarm at any time: 1. Set dials

to personal combination. 2. Press Black Release button

to unhook Cable Head. 3. Alarm will immediately

stop sounding.

WARNING: To maintain security of Alarm, scramble

dials to random numbers after every activation or

when not in use.

Setting Alarm to Level 2 Security:

1. Follow Steps 1-5 above in “Setting Alarm to

Level 1 Security”.

6. Press Activation button on front of unit once to reset

to Level 2 Security.

7. Alarm sounds two beeps and Green light begins

flashing twice per second.

8. If 8 seconds of continuous motion is detected,

• Alarm chirps a warning sound.

• Red light shines steadily for 3 seconds.

• Alarm sounds for 45 seconds or until deactivated.

After 45 seconds, Alarm automatically resets.

9. If cable is tampered with, Alarm sounds continuously

until unit is deactivated or battery exhausted.

Setting Alarm to Level 3 Security (without motion

detection):

1. Follow Steps 1-5 above in “Setting Alarm to

Level 1 Security”.

6. Press Activation button on front of unit twice to reset

to Level 3 Security.

7. Alarm sounds one beep and Green light begins

flashing once per second.

8. If cable is tampered with, Alarm sounds continuously

until unit is deactivated or battery exhausted.

NOTE: Security Levels can be reset only in diminishing

levels. From Level 1 Security, Alarm can be reset directly

to Level 2 Security by pressing Activation Button once;

from level 2 Security, Alarm can be reset to level 3

Security by pressing Activation Button once again.

To increase Security Level:

• Set dials to personal combination.

• Release Cable Head by pressing Black button.

• Follow instructions for setting Security Level .

5. Multiple, Flexible Uses of your Sensor Alarm Lock

The accessories included with your Sensor Alarm Lock

adapt it to meet the changing needs of your mobile

working environment:

A. Conventional Usage:

• Use retractable cable to tether Alarm through

handle of laptop carrying case, suitcase, purse or

other portable valuable while travelling.

• Use cable to tether Alarm from portable valuable to

an immovable object.

• Alarm sounds if object is moved, bumped or jarred

(in Level 1 or Level 2 Security) or cable tampered

with (all Security Levels).
