7.8.5 Software utilities
The following utilities are supplied to help you to customize your "Execute" actions:
7.8.5.1 Shutdown.bat (Windows Script)
The "shutdown.bat" script lets you customize the system shutdown.
It allows:
• synchronous (which block whilst running) or asynchronous programs to be run before shutting the system
down.
• programs to be time delayed. The "wait.exe
" synchronous utility, distributed in the Network Shutdown
Module default installation directory (<Program Files\...\NetworkShutdownModule), is used.
• programs with specific rights to be run. Using mgeRunAs.exe
(Windows NT/2000/2003/XP).
• your own system shutdown solution to be used.
• For further information refer to the "shutdown.bat" file in the Network Shutdown Module installation
directory. <Program Files\...\NetworkShutdownModule\bin\tools>.
7.8.5.2 Shutdown.sh (Linux Script)
The "shutdown.sh" script lets you customize the system shutdown.
• For further information refer to the "shutdown.sh" file in the Network Shutdown Module installation
directory. <install_path>/bin/tools.
7.8.5.3 Wait (Windows)
• Presentation:
"Wait.exe" is a utility used to set up a time delay in a command file (.bat or .cmd file). It can be used in the
shutdown.bat file to wait until the end of an asynchronous task (non blocking).
• Location:
The program is located in the installation directory <Program Files\...\NetworkShutdownModule\bin\tools>.
• Use:
The parameter for the program is the time delay expressed in milliseconds.
• Example:
Wait.exe 2000 <- The system will wait for two seconds.
