Planning and implementing security features
As a network device that passes information across the network, the
Automatic Transfer Switch is subject to the same exposure as other devices
on the network.
Use the information in this section to plan and implement the security
features appropriate for your environment.

Remote control console.
Security Access Description
Access is by user name
and password.
Always enabled.
Security Access Description
Available methods:
• User name and
password
• Selectable server port
• Server Enable/Disable
• Secure SHell (SSH)
For high security, use SSH.
• With Telnet, the user name and password are transmitted
as plain text.
SSH disables Telnet and provides encrypted access to the
control console interface to provide additional protection
from attempts to intercept, forge, or alter data during data
transmission.
