Introduction

without the internal front cover
plate mounted and fastened
with screws.
1.0 Introduction
The information provided in this installation guide is of a general nature for a local
authorized electrical installer. Please refer to local/national electrical codes for more
information.
SPE Factory Warranty:
1 year on parts and on-site labor. Labor response time is best endeavour. Travel
expenses are not included. An APC Start-Up Service must be performed/completed
by an APC or APC authorized service personnel or this on-site factory warranty (on-
site labor) will be void. Parts will only be covered upon right commissioning and
installation.
1.1 Required tools and equipment
This section lists all tools that could be required to install the UPS and related
equipment. Whether all tools are used, depends on what UPS configuration you are
using.
Tools needed for installation of Silcon DP3120E and Silcon DP3160E:
10 mm socket
13 mm socket–deep
17 mm socket
3/4” or 19 mm socket–deep
3/4” or 19 mm combo wrench
Small flat/regular screwdriver
#3 philips screwdriver
Compression lug crimp tool
Knock–out set (for conduit)
Supplies needed:
Compression lugs for power terminations
Cable to service bypass panel from system feeder (see wire sizing)
Cable to UPS input from service bypass panel (see wire sizing)
Cable to service bypass panel from UPS output (see wire sizing)
Cable from service bypass panel to customer distribution (see wire sizing)
Cable to UPS from external batteries/external MCCB (see wire sizing)
Control wire, solid core, to UPS from service bypass panel (see control wiring)
Control wire, solid core, to UPS from external batteries/external MCCB (see
control wire)
Conduit necessary for above listed cabling (see wire size for requirements)
